Ok – at first I was a bit skeptical about this game, but being a huge tower defense game addict, I had to try it out for myself.

Emoticon Defense is by no means unique as far as TD Games go. You only have one kind of tower to choose, and the “creeps” are fairly standard for this type of game – and the maps are nothing to write home about… All that being said, I was hooked right from the start.

While you only have one standard “smiley” to use as a tower, there are tons of different combinations of upgrades that you can use. You can’t win simply by spamming smileys across the map, but instead have to think in advance for what type of MOB is coming up. You can change tactics on the fly, and re-equip your towers as the situation demands.

I’ve played all of the tower defense games on this site and tons of others, and for now – Smiley Defense is my favorite. Hope all of you other TD fans out there enjoy it as well.

On a personal note – sorry I haven’t been updating this site as often as some of y’all like, but real world issues have been keeping me pretty busy – family illnesses and the like. No real problems – just little things keeping me busy. Very shortly I’ll be back to full steam and updating a few times a day like before.

*NOTE: A few Firefox users have noted that Gondar TD will not load up for them. I am currently working with the game designer to figure out the problem. In the meantime, it seems to work perfectly well on all other browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Safari. It works for some Firefox users, but not all. We’ll get this fixed as soon as possible.

A word of warning: Tower #6 (Super Tower – unlocked at level 15) doesn’t work – don’t use it.

Was able to play all the way to level 72, but the game froze, so was unable to continue.

A very slow game, be prepared to spend hours playing.

Takes a few moments to figure this one out, but once you do GemCraft will have you hooked. A great concept in tower defense games.

Whew! Not one for the weak or faint of heart. Combine Heavy Metal music with awesome graphics and pure speed and you’ve got a space racer that’s gonna hook you and not let ya go.

Adventure Ho reminds me of the old school roleplaying games, with a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor added in large measure. Think about it, when did you last attack someone with a spatula or toilet brush? Great for a few laughs…
